POLITICS: APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE DEFECTS IN KEBBI STATE

The Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Alhaji Mustapha Hassan Yauri has withdrawn from the governorship race and defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Yauri made the announcement while addressing newsmen shortly after a closed-door meeting with INEC officials on Monday at the INEC office in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

The governorship candidate said his Withdrawal was based on the consultation with stakeholders from the state and performance recorded by the APC government.

Yauri said: “I decided to join APC because of the achievements the present administration has recorded in the state and president Muhammadu Buhari, such as the construction of roads from Jega, Koko, Yauri and Kotangora while Atiku Bagudu has also constructed Yauri township road, empowering youth through Agricultural sectors.”

He further urged all his party supporters to join APC and support the present administration in the state in order to ensure the c victory at the polls in February and March.
