The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next month general election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has dropped a very enticing promise to the people of Akwa Ibom State ahead of the cricial presidential election.
It was reported that Atiku assured Akwa Ibom people of sitting refinery in the area to create more job opportunities for the people when elected. He has also promised to improve the economy to reverse what the APC led federal government had battled to no avail in the past three years.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP faithful at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo yesterday during the PDP presidential campaign, Atiku recalled that infrastructures and other development in Akwa Ibom since inception of present democratic government in 1999 were achieved through PDP led government in Akwa Ibom. “Since 1999, every development in Akwa Ibom came through PDP.
I commend the people of Akwa Ibom for continuing to be PDP at all time” Atiku lambasted All Progressive Congress (APC) led federal government for failing to revive the economy as promised to Nigerians in 2015, but rather increased the rate of unemployment and made Nigeria to be the headquarters of poverty in the world as adjudged by United Nations. Atiku further assured Akwa Ibom people that Nigeria would be restructured to meet the yearnings of the people. He said 70 per cent of his administration would be dedicated to youths and women while the baton of leadership would be handed over to the youths at expiration of his tenure.
In his solidarity address, Governor Udom Emmanuel, said whenever you aspire to be president anywhere in the world, your economic policy will drive your ambition. Governor Emmanuel maintained that the only party understands the economic problems of Nigeria is PDP and encouraged Akwa Ibom people to vote the party to power in next month general election.“Our incoming president Atiku Abubakar will make Nigeria great again by reviving the economy, job creation and good governance” Responding, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus said in any civilize nation where people in their party, the other people do not go there. Referring to those who planned to rig election in Akwa Ibom, prince secondus warned them to change their mind to avoid negative consequences.
“If you rig election in Akwa Ibom, you rig your head” he warned. In another solidarity remarks, the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr Peter Obi, said the APC has killed Nigeria with insecurity and killings everyday and the only party that will fix the Nigeria is PDP and appealed to Akwa Ibom people to vote enmass in next election.
